Seven on Saturday

1.  All over the city you can see notices on the walls.  We'll try to get some pictures of the better ones as we go along (i.e., "No Urinating,"), but here is a start.

"Stick No Bills"

2.  A drink/snack stand - pretty common to see these all over the city selling a variety of things.

3.  "The development of a given historical epoch can always be gauged by the degree of progress of women towards freedom."

4.  As you quickly realize, there are a lot of dogs in India, but they aren't domesticated, well many of them aren't.  They are all stray dogs and it's a little wild to see so many animals out and about in such a busy city.  Early in the morning we go for walks, and we especially like Cubbon Park because the streets through the park are closed to traffic until 8 am...apparently the dogs like that the streets are closed as well!

Stray dogs enjoying the empty road.

5.  The McAloo Tikki...I don't even know where to start with this one.  This is a billboard right across from our apartment, and I gather it's a sandwich.  It costs 25 rupees, which is about 50 cents, and based on my research it's a breaded patty of mushed potatoes and peas...

McAloo Tikki get's kudos from vegetarians!

6.  There are a lot of amazing things about our new home, but one not so amazing aspect is the trash.  There is a lot of it, everywhere...

7.  We got the keys to our apartment today!  Alan holds the opinion that a new home warrants a blog post all on it's own, so that will be featured soon...but here is a sneak preview!
